As a quality assurance drive, a Review Committee of Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, comprising of Members / Representatives of HERA-KP, Khyber Medical University, Pakistan Nursing Council and Institute of Health Professions Education and Research, is carrying out a comprehensive inspection of all registered private sector Nursing and Allied Health Sciences colleges / institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) and the Higher Education Regularity Authority (HERA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for having effective collaboration on prevention and awareness to combat extremism in Private Educational Institutes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The MoU was signed by Chairman Dr. Amber Ali Khan, HERA and Member (Policy) Asif Saif ullah Paracha, NACTA.
The scope of the MoU is to establish a sustained and effective collaboration and partnership in the areas combating violent extremism in Province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including the newly merged Districts (NMDs).
Both the organizations will consolidate existing research work in the areas of counter-extremism, which will help in promoting research culture in the public/Private sector as well as improving the policy-making process.
Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Higher Education, Archives & Libraries and Information Mr. Kamran Bangash chaired a meeting of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Private Universities Uniform ACT 2020 drafted by Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA) and Charters of 4 New Private Universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Chairman HERA-KP, Dr. Amber Ali Khan presented the Private Universities Uniform ACT 2020 (Draft) and the Charters of Rehman (General) University, Northwest University of Health Sciences, Prime (General) University and NUMS University.

Chairman HERA, Dr. Amber Ali Khan briefed the chair in detail on the steps taken as a follow-up to the decisions taken in the last meeting.
Miss Ayesha Bano, Member of Provincial Assembly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Parliamentary Secretary for Higher Education paid a visit to Higher Education Regulatory Authority Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Chairman HERA, Dr. Amber Ali Khan briefed her in detail on the Rules and Regulations of HERA, Achievements and Initiatives taken by the HERA to improve the quality and achieving excellence in Higher Education in the private sector of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Miss Ayesha Bano applauded the efforts made by HERA to safeguard the standards of Higher Education and to protect the interest of the students in Private Sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
